Divorced and Homeless
My personal journey of hope started in 1999 from the back of a 1991 Ford Explorer. I was at the beginning of a divorce and felt deeply alone. The fear of being alone for the rest of my life had me crying myself to sleep at night. Like so many of us do when we feel alone, I created a situation where I isolated myself even further by intentionally choosing to become homeless.
In the midst of being homeless and crying myself to sleep most nights, I made a decision to take control of my life, by taking control of my finances. I paid off thousands of dollars of debt and built an emergency fund by implementing a budget with a yellow pad and a pencil.
Homeless with Hope
After years of sacrifice, my wife Regina and I are 100% debt free. This includes no mortgage, student loans, car payments, credit cards, and other forms of debt. We have a full emergency fund, sent multiple children to college/university without student loans, and have gone on debt-free vacations. One of our greatest privileges continues to be helping people transform from feeling overwhelmed and hopeless to confident and full of hope.
Hope with A Plan
Because of the hope I enjoy from the sacrifices we made, I became a Certified Financial Consultant in 2004 to help people build a plan that helps them produce real hope, clarify their future, and prosper them. Since 2004 I have been privileged to help thousands of individuals and couples through conferences, seminars, classes, workshops, 1 on 1 coaching which produces lasting hope in their lives.
